VISION
What I think and want with Hjärterum is that it should be a place to go to where you feel that you get strength and joy during the day, to more easily handle what life throws at you. Perhaps you are unemployed, on sick leave, on disability pension or working part-time? A pensioner? A student? Whatever the case, I want to create a place where you can feel welcome, whether you have a great day or a less great day. Life can be pretty hard sometimes and I want to create a warm place to get some breathing space, land a little and have some fun.
My vision is that this cool place should be divided into different sections depending on the activity. A sewing room with space to sew, knit crochet etc, a carpentry room with simple equipment, a chill / rest room for recovery and breathing space, a pottery room with simple equipment, a small kitchen where you can bake and cook together, a snacking place where you take part in other opinions and discuss everything from heaven and earth – with respect and understanding of course. There should also be the opportunity to write down something you might want to try or do; try ice skating, maybe see the latest movie or a nice beach hangout in the evening? A small list where you can fill in what you think attracts and maybe you are suddenly a bunch who want the same thing.
When you get into the unemployment swamp or the sick leave swamp or some other swamp, you can lose self-confidence and you may be told that you are not needed or that you do not work as you “should”. My vision is that we help each other. We are often good at seeing the advantages and fine qualities of others, something that we become completely blind to especially when you lose faith in yourself. How nice it would be to end up in a place where you are slowly strengthened and built up to finally find your place in the big picture. Whole people.
I want this place to be for different ages and different people. I think we have so much to learn from both older and younger people and people who have lived completely different lives than you. We all have so much knowledge, experiences and fascinating things and personalities that can strengthen the group and society. How cool would it be to talk to someone who has lived in Papua New Guinea for 15 years and understand their outlook on life? Or maybe an older woman who has amazing stories? It doesn’t even have to be world-changing stuff, it can be as nice and simple as teaching someone to maybe cook rice or how to crochet. There is so much potential for new good memories and new lessons and new friendships – maybe for life.
As I am passionate about people’s well-being, the vision is absolutely that ideally everyone should feel that this has strengthened them and made them feel better. This means that well-being rules and statutes will be very important to follow. But it doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s mostly about being fair to others and making sure to sort things out if necessary.
I believe in people. You can end up crooked and twisted in life and it’s so scary when we start believing the crap that we can say to ourselves. I believe that we all have potential and just like plants, if we are in good conditions, almost miracles can happen.
Perhaps journeys are created that would never have happened otherwise? Maybe Berit will finally dare to ride a horse as she has dreamed of, maybe Samuel will find someone who shares his great interest in manga drawing. Maybe you’ll inspire someone to try something they never thought they could do. Do you realize how great this could be?
I can see it and it’s incredible, it’s my contribution to the world to bring people together and create a warm place where good things can rest and grow.
